Questions About HomeHunt?

Posted on: Thu 21st June, 2018

In June we launched another option for people to apply for some of our properties, HomeHunt.

Prior to launch the only way to register and apply for social housing in Herefordshire was through the Herefordshire Council run system HomePoint. The majority of our homes will still be advertised through this system.

What is HomeHunt and how does it work?

HomeHunt, the new system isn't means tested. Anyone can register, but some landlords will have specifics relating to things like household income. This means that not everyone who registers can apply for all the homes listed.

Not surprisingly the number of people registering with Herefordshire Housing on HomeHunt has been pretty high since launch. It's also important to remember that people who register with us can’t instantly apply for our homes.

We're now going through all the registrations and approving those eligible. Once approved people can apply for our homes.

  • Once registered on HomeHunt you can set alerts for properties that match what you're looking for.
  • Approved applications through HomeHunt will be on a first come first served basis.
  • Herefordshire Housings' Allocations Policy will apply for successful applicants.
  • We're unable to contact unsuccessful applicants. Remember to check your HomeHunt application for further updates.

Want to know more about your options for renting a home in Herefordshire?

Most Affordable & Social Rent homes in Herefordshire are let through HomePoint (Herefordshire Council managed list). Some homes are also listed through HomeHunt (anyone can register). To find out more about both of these and how to apply see here.
