The Oval Development represents a major multi-million pound programme of improvement and regeneration across an area that Includes Kilvert Road, Broxash Drive, Belmont Road and Beattie Avenue in Hereford. 

Bath Street

It starting life as a Working Boys’ Home in 1877 and went on to become Herefordshire Council's registry office. This beautiful redbrick site purchased by Herefordshire Housing in 2018 will be transformed into 74 1 & 2 bedroom apartments (59 affordable rent and 15 private rent).

The red brick frontage of the building will be kept, with the newer buildings located at the rear being demolished and replaced with complimentary architecture.

The project will be split into 2 phases. Phase 1 will involve the refurbishment of the existing redbrick building while phase 2 will include new build sections. Each phase is expected to take 1 year. 



August 2019

Foundation work has started on the South and East blocks, with dividing wall work also taking place on the South block.

Work has begun to adapt the windows of the original red brick frontage.

Sub-structure block work on the North block.

April 2018 The sale of Herefordshire Council’s former county office in Bath Street officially completed. The site will be re-developed by Herefordshire Housing to create 75 new apartments.
