Who runs Herefordshire Housing?

Herefordshire Housing is run by its Board of Management, which is made up of 12 Board members. These are:

4 Tenant Board Members
selected through postal voting by all tenants

4 Local Authority Board Members
appointed by Herefordshire Council who each have Herefordshire Housing properties in their ward

4 Independent Board Members
drawn from the community, who provide specialised business and professional skills

The role of the Board is to provide direction in setting policies and to make sure that Herefordshire Housing maintains financial stability, efficiency and good practice. The ultimate responsibility of the Company lies with the Board.

Currently all Board Members are unpaid volunteers, although they do receive reasonable out of pocket expenses. All Board Members undertake regular training to enable them to ensure that Herefordshire Housing, as an organisation, is run properly.
