A community project at Peterchurch in Herefordshire saw 70 residents turn out to get to know one another and join in the fun.

The event hosted by Herefordshire Housing, in conjunction with the Golden Valley Community Centre was created to encourage residents of all ages to get to know one another better and learn about each others experiences by participating in a creative project.

Two sessions were held afterschool and residents got involved in pottery projects, story telling sessions and face painting.

"We are passionate about creating popular neighbourhoods and communities where residents want to live and stay. Projects like this bring the community together and involve all generations, helping them to understand and get to know one another better." said Suzanne Farmer, Customer Involvement Officer for Herefordshire Housing.

Residents at Peterchurch were keen for more community projects to be held in the area and IT sessions have already started at the Community Centre for residents who have never used a computer before. The sessions are open to residents of any age and are designed to introduce the basic skills needed to start the journey into computing.

Herefordshire Housing is continuing to work with the community to plan further activities for the summer holidays.
