Housing Support Advisor Fixed Term Contract until the end of March 2011 Salary £16534.85 per annum pro rata 37 hours per week We are seeking a highly motivated colleague to join our committed and flexible Housing Support Team, whose main role is to maintain the interests and safety of service users as its priority. The team provides support to older people and those with physical or sensory disabilities in their own homes to help them regain or maintain independent living. You will be responsible for undertaking needs assessments and for delivering effective and professional support service. You will work in partnership with the service users, including being able to respond to emergencies calmly and professionally. The successful candidate will have at least 12 months experience of hands-on support work with vulnerable people in a health, social care or housing setting. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to work with a range of vulnerable people, colleagues and external agencies. A sound knowledge of the “Supporting People” programme and criteria is essential. The ability to travel throughout Herefordshire is essential as the role requires travel to service users’ homes anywhere in the County. You must be able to work on your own initiative with limited supervision and be competent in the use of IT.
