Digital Inclusion Officer

£21,583 per annum

Permanent Contract - 37 hours per week

Location- Hereford, West Midlands

A unique opportunity has arisen within the Customer Involvement Team.  We are seeking an experienced person to deliver intergenerational digital inclusion projects, effectively engaging with individuals, groups and partner organisations to break down barriers to digital and social inclusion. 

We are looking for someone with exceptional people skills and a keen interest in new technology for this post. 

You must be a creative, enthusiastic individual who will support customers to maximize their access to technology.  You will need to be experienced in working with community partners to deliver courses and activities to a wide range of residents from all ages, backgrounds and with different abilities.

You will need a well-developed knowledge of ICT and a clear understanding and experience of the needs and aspirations of older, vulnerable or disabled people in terms of removing barriers to being digitally active

You must have excellent interpersonal and customer care skills, being able to demonstrate good diplomacy, persuasiveness and negotiation.  You will need to be a skilled communicator who can understand, relate and engage with people from all walks of life.

Ideally you will have experience in engaging, developing and delivering a range of ICT activities within a community setting and experience of developing, managing and facilitating workshops, events and activities.

Homelessness Intervention Officer - 2 Posts

£23,994 per annum

37 hours per week – 2 Year Fixed Term Contracts

Location- Hereford, West Midlands

We are looking for colleagues who have experience of working with and understanding the needs of homeless people and those threatened with homelessness.

These posts will work with a range of partners including the CAB and Herefordshire Council. The ability to assess swiftly a person’s Housing need and barriers preventing them retaining their home or being rehoused is essential to the roles. A good understanding of Housing legislation applied across all sectors is required. Experience of multiagency working to achieve positive outcomes for those in Housing need is a must.

The main aspects of these posts are:

  • To identify those issues which may put a person at risk of homelessness
  • To work with agencies including private landlords to prevent homelessness
  • Identify any barriers to rehousing and intervene to ensure that they are managed

Telecare Installer

£18,978 per annum

37 hours per week – Permanent (Shropshire Area)

We are looking to recruit a Telecare Installer within the Careline Services Team to work predominantly in South Shropshire but can extend to the Cheshire border and North Herefordshire.

Careline Services is located within the Herefordshire Housing Limited’s Head Office at Legion Way, Hereford. Careline Services has established itself as one of the top Telecare Alarm Providers in the UK, monitoring in excess of 32,500 alarm connections nationwide. The Careline Service provides a 24 hour personal alarm service for older and vulnerable people helping them remain independent and feel secure in their own environment. In addition, we provide out of hours emergency telephone answering service to our tenants, Local Authorities and Housing Associations throughout the Country.

The main purpose of the role is to co-ordinate and implement the assessment, installation and demonstration of Telecare solutions and to provide technical support and advice to Herefordshire Careline Services customers. There is also the requirement to respond quickly to emergency faults and therefore the successful candidate will need to be able to travel within the Shropshire area and other geographical locations covered by the service.

They will need to be self-motivated and able to work independently and will demonstrate a positive understanding and awareness of the needs of older and vulnerable people.

It is desirable to have an appropriate qualification in IT and communication systems and have experience of installation of Telecare and Telecommunication equipment.

Careline Operator

Business Development Manager

To support our vision to become a first class service provider, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to help drive the growth and delivery of our services to a wider external customer base and enhance the range of products offered.

The role

Reporting into the Head of Corporate Services, the main purpose of the role is to support the growth of services currently provided to customers, through initiating and building relationships with key stakeholders and to attract new business streams and initiatives for wider business offerings.  Management of the tender process for new business, and liaison with lead managers to bid for grant funding will also be a significant part of your responsibilities.

The candidate

The successful candidate will be an experienced Business Development Manager with a successful track record of developing new business in a commercial environment. A self-driven, proactive team player with the ability to build credible relationships quickly and effectively. You will also be a strategic thinker and effective influencer.  Knowledge and understanding of social housing, and the requirements of external stakeholders would be advantageous, whilst experience of obtaining grant funding would be beneficial.
